1920 s Seaworthy Boats Flying Yankee 65 clockwork boat. The motor works well and I will upload a video of it in the bath. It has great patina, the varnish having bubbled with age but retaining the all important gold labels.21 inches total length including the rudder - It is much heavier and more robust than European equivalents from the same period. Likewise the motor is much more massive than its European counterparts. It has a flared stern which adds a characterful style as compared to Europen boats. Really made for some tough play and looks like its had it. From a manufacturing perspective a few design features - like the sexy transfers and flared stern and a complex shaped hull which would be difficult to produce in a hollow hulled boat, - and the cutting edge of the Samurai like rudder - make it look very appealing whilst the manufacture probably involved vastly less labor than hollow hull European boats, and a good solution if wood is plentiful.
