Offeredis this lovely fine porcelain china footed cream pitcher decorated on the frontwith a transfer portrait of a dark-haired beauty in an oval cameo. The lady’sportrait is framed by a gold cartouche. The neckline of her low-cut gown hashand-enameled accents in white.
Characteristic of the Royal Vienna style, theivory-colored body of the creamer is encircled by a wide band of forest greenwith a more narrow band of deep maroon. A band of maroon decorates the mouthand foot of the pitcher. Gold trim highlights every element of the décor.
Theback of the pitcher is decorated with a maroon circle with a gilded laurel wreathinside it.
The piece is marked with hand-lettered gold numbers and symbols on the bottom. We believe this piece was made for Wheelock Pottery of Peoria, Illinois, by Reinhold Schlegelmilch, the same porcelain factory that made RS Prussia china.
Thepitcher stands 4 3/8 inches high (11.1 cm).
Itis in very good used condition with no chips or cracks. Gold trim in very goodcondition but does how slight wear around the inside rim.
