Vintage Round Sweden Silver Pin in Original Box. This pin is from the early 1950\'s and may be even older. The 1-3/8\" diameter round silver pin features the letters B and T surrounded by a laurel wreath. Hallmarks are stamped on the reverse. The first is \"B&K\" and the rest are pictorial. The pasteboard box interior is lined in red velvet and an ivory colored shiny material (may have been white?) that forms the hinge and lines the top of the box. The top of the interior features a stamped logo that says \"Stig Almqvist, Ur- & Guldmedsaffar, Borlange\". Loosely translated it means that Stig Almquist was a watchmaker and also sold jewelry in Borlange, Sweden.
The unknown is why my family would have a pin with the initials of B and T. I can understand Borlange because my grandparents were born in Dalarna. What I can\'t understand is those initials. This pin show no signs of having been worn and there\'s nobody in our family or among my grandparent\'sacquaintances who had those initials. I have left the patina on the pin but will polish it upon request.
The ideal owner of this one-of-a-kind item would be of Swedish descent and have a first name starting with a B and a last name starting with a T. That in no way precludes those who have some or even none of those qualifications from owning this truly unique piece.
