I am an \"originalist\" who has 5 Wurlitzer 78 RPM Jukes - all of which are 100% original.
I do not replace the wood, have the metal redone etc, for cosmetic reasons.
I feel something this old & beautiful should show its age if it occurred naturally.
To me it would be like ruining an antique by sanding & staining it.
Amazing that these machines, in this case 69 years old, are as great as when they came off the production line.Excellent Condition - everything works - Grinder accepts coins, Plays correctly selected Records, etc.
I am the third owner - acquired in 1981 as my first Wurlitzer 78 rpm box - smoke free home.
Was in a bar 1948-1954, then in the home of a \"jobber\' who kept it perfectly functioning.Mechanism was 100% Refurbished by Frank Hamway 4-5 years ago so no concerns re mech pulling out two records at once, etc.
Amplifier completely rebuilt 8 years ago.
Contains the proper green/red cobra cartridge - changed 3 years ago.
Works on coins - Grinder, etc perfect.Record trays are included and will be placed in a separate box inside the 1100.
Tubes will be individually wrapped in bubble wrap & placed in a box inside the 1100.
The tray stack will be secured with twine in three places to prevent trays from moving while in transit.
The cartridge will be removed from the tonearm & placed in a small box inside the box holding the tubes.
The tonearm will be secured so it will not move during transit.
Front door will be locked & key placed in box with the tubes.Will include selection of 24 78 RPM records including Sinatra, Miller, Crosby, Doris Day, etc.They will will be mailed separately. I lightly lubricate the mech at a few spots twice a year. Please note the wear on mech board because the door was not lifted up when opened while in the bar.
There is slight warping of the red plastic inside at bottom of front grill - new can be bought at Victory Glass.
Some light pitting of the lower grill. Was like that when removed from the bar.
Slight raising of the veneer wood along part of the edge near the door.A small damage area at lower left of bubble like you get on a windshield hit by a stone.
