Vintage 18k Gold Plated Jacket Dunhill Rollagas Lighter Chevron Pattern SwissThis near-mint Dunhill lighter has been recently serviced by our expert staff, during the service the following was performed:
A new Flint was added (prior owner stored it without flint, which is a very much recommended practice)New O Rings (freshly greased to prevent premature breakage)New Fuel Filterthoroughly tested, lighted 4 to 7 times a day until the gass was exhausted(very little left on the chamber so buyer will be able to test right away)After testing this lighter does not show leaks, the flame can be adjusted and we guarantee it to light on first strike every time
This vintage lighter has a Jacket machined in the chevron pattern, the jacket is made of 18k gold plated (thick gold platted) which was confirmed and tested with state of the art equipment(results of the test are shown in the photos provided).
There is one very visible to the naked eye scratch which extends from the top of the flame adjusting wheel to the side of the lighter up to the flip top(it does not extend beyond that line which may indicate the scratch happened while the lighter was opened), about 1/4 of an inch away from the hinge.
History of the Rollagas
Preceded by only one very significant hit by its parent company, the Dunhill Unique from 1920 was the first lighter you could operate with one hand. The rollagas came until 1956 as one of the first butane lighters to hit the scene, an instant status symbol. Elvis Presley owned a 14k one and it is the lighter of preference for James Bond. Enough said.
