Up for sale is a vintage jigsaw puzzle manufactured by the MADMAR QUALITY CO. of Utica, NY. THE \"QUALITY\" MAP PUZZLEOF THE UNITED STATES is complete in its original box with a very neat Art Nouveau cover. The 15-piece cardboard puzzle measures 10-3/4 inches in width by 7-3/4 inches in height. The original box measures 11-1/4 inches in width, 8-1/4 inches in height and 3/4 inches in depth.
CONDITION:The puzzle is in GOOD condition. The pieces are lightly soiled with some warping; the light orange backs are foxed. The color lithographed label on the box cover is rubbed and lightly soiled. The box aprons are more heavily soiled; there are names (largely illegible) written in colored pencil in the top margin of the box cover. The box cover is slightly dished. The corners of the box cover are intact but there are two apron splits (one on the side on the end) with accompanying separation on the end apron. The boxbottom is fully intact but foxed. PLEASE SEE THE PHOTOS FOR CONDITION.This is a nice example of the children\'s puzzles produced by Madmar and would be a great gift for a jigsaw puzzle or map collector.
