Extremely scarce 1930\'s cotton Beacon Blanket Jacket with Buffalo Nickel Buttons and a shawl collar.

All buttons are very worn but the one that can be read appears to have the year 1926 on it.

There has been some speculation that this was initially a robe which has been cut down to a jacket. All indications do not seem to support this claim, but in the interest of honesty, I feel it should be mentioned.

The jacket body is lined in thick deep purple satin (which remains in excellent condition), as are the pockets, and is backed with what appears to be soft, black wool pile.

The overall condition of the jacket is well worn, with a few rips and tears on the sleeves and one on the shawl collar. The left wrist cuff has come loose at some point and has been re-sewn by hand with yellow thread at some point. See detail picture ;)

Details to note are the perfect symmetry in the production of the jacket, which in contrast to the wear creates an beautiful, one of a kind look.

I would recommend this jacket for collectors and design houses but it is absolutely wearable as well, if that is your fancy.
