You are looking at a very unique and somewhat rare American D8T dynamic microphone made in Los Angeles, California during the late 1940\'s to mid 1950\'s.
This mic was very much like the famous D4T and had a much more elegant polished chrome body. These are ideal harp mics having a gritty dirty sound when used with a harmonica. Also, excellent general purpose mics in a high Z setting you\'ll get a fantastic old school rockabilly sound for vocals. Characteristics of the mic are seen in the old advertising add seen in pic # 2. Sadly, this mic is not working at 100% like it should. i would put the signal strength at closer to 20% but she\'ll still make a fine display model for sure.
As you can see in the pictures provided this beautiful microphone has been used very little over the years andin very good condition.The surface is smooth as silkwith the tiniest of pitting and pitting but no dings, fractures or dents. The polished chrome absolutely glows. The joint mechanism holds strong and allows for a smooth rotation to any degree needed. Mic is solid with zero loose parts or rattling.
I should state that this model came in 3 different models. You could purchase an AmericanD8 with 50 OHMS (High Z) or the DT8 in 200 or 500 OHMS. I believe this model to be 50 OHMS as it has a higher Z quality.
