not a plastics expert but I do know that this brooch was purchased in Germany in the late 1940\'s - it measures 2 inches across and is 7/8 of an inch wide - it has a dome shape and the flowers encased in it appear to me to wild flowers - closes securely - excellent vintage condition - the \"nub\" you can see at the left top of the brooch appears to be a type of prong that may have been used to hold it in place during its manufacture - shipped in a lovely gift box
