You are looking at a very unique 1940\'s era Shure Brothers 710S modelcrystal microphone which comes with a shortened original cable and hard to find Shure 710S box.
It should be noted right away that this microphone comes with it\'s original Shure crystal element but it no longer works and this should be used for prop, display or repair purposes only. It\'s rare for a 710S to work at all due to it\'s very old age but there is more than enough room inside however to put any controlled magnetic element or crystal element of choice if one ever decides to upgrade the mic. I would suggest a good working Shure Controlled magnetic element as a replacement. There are no cracks or fractures anywhere on the microphone. The beautiful all metal body has a few smaller scratches, scuffs and paint chips. There is also a small hole drilled into the top of the mic as seen in pic # 10. Not a bad looking 710S overall.
The 710S came with the on / off button that one would depress to make the mic go live. The switch works fine and will come in handy if a newer element is ever installed.
This little mic has a bit of weight to it and the original burgundy paint is quite beautiful. The original gold colored cloth screen looks great with zero rips or holes. It\'s appx 4 inches tall X 2 1/2 inches wide. The Shure badge and logo are still present and looks good with a scuff mark. This mic was designed to sit on it\'s own or to be mounted to a taller desk or floor stand.
The cable has been shortened for display purposes but still soft and pliable and comes with it\'s original male Switchcraft 1/4 inch end connector. The 710S is an easy 6 on a scale of 1 - 10.
The original box is included and in pretty good shape. A hard to find accessory that\'s always nice to find.
