You are looking at a gorgeous 1940\'s era Turner 211 dynamic microphone with complimentary cast iron desk stand made by Atlas Corp.
This heavily decoinspired piece with original satin chrome finish makes this one of themoreunique Turnermicrophones ever produced. The 211 series microphone came ina coupledifferent styles over the years with the only changes coming in the lower half that carried the Turner badge and the type of element used. The 211 microphone only ever carried the Dynamic element and built in transformer which was a huge improvement over the crystal microphones of the day. The Dynamic element in this microphone no longer works however and the element will need to be replaced.
This will make a decent prop, display or repair mic.
As you can see by the picture provided this mic has typical small scratches in the satin chrome finish from use over the years and one small spot of pitting on the top rear of the mic.. There are no dents or engravings however and the Turner badge is still quite beautiful. I\'d rate the cosmetic condition a conservative 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10.
The 211 is a chunky mic with a bit of weight. The all metal construction makes it quite tough and built like a tank. Any 3 pin cable will screw right on and hold as desired.
The joint mechanism works just as it should. A true piece of Americana and a conversation piece anywhere in the home, office or studio.
Solid inside and out this mic was built to last. MICROPHONE STAND SHOWN IS PART OF THIS SALE... and it\'s an Atlas 763 model with the cast iron base and 3 inch chrome riser. The paint is in very nice shape and the base is free of any rust. The low stance and heavy weight will keep the mic from ever tipping over. the 3 original rubber pads are in excellent shape as well.As with all my items...
