This vintage Christmas, Santa Claus plate was hand-painted probably in the late 1940\'s or early 1950\'s. My childhood spanned from the early 1940\'s into the 1950\'s and this image of Santa is just like the one I saw in my book \"The Night Before Christmas.\" He is painted on milk glass and, as the photos show, some of the paint has been lost over time. The remaining paint is secure. Sparkle decorates his hat band & pom-pom as well as some on his beard. This does not appear to me to be a \"loving hands at home\" project but was likelycommercially done.

The plate is 8\" in diameter. There is no indication of the manufacturer of the milk glass.
