You are looking at a beautiful Electro Voice model 911 microphone with accessories. This unique, elegant and timelessdesign came right from Buchanan, Michigan during the 1950\'s and has a look all it\'s own with it\'s clean, pleasing lines and curves.
Picture # 2 is from a 1950\'s catalog showing basic specs on this mic.
This 911 utilizesthe crystal element instead of the dynamic which the E.V 611 came with. This mic has been thoroughly cleaned, tested and it does work with a high Z setting. This mic has it\'s original element too. The 911 was used as a general purpose mic originally but is well known as being a great harp mic these days. I would suggest using this for anything other than a harp mic as the element is much weaker than when it was first made. You have to cup the mic to get good sound out of it.
As seen in the pics provided...the polished chrome finish has a nice luster showing very small traces of wear and one of the nicer 911\'s I have ever personally come across. Let the pictures be your guide. I try to provide the most detailed, up close photos available so you know exactly what you are getting and no buyers remorse so common with these older mics. You\'ll notice there are small spots of pitting here and there. The joint mechanism holds strong and the switch mechanism works just as it should. The stainless steel mesh screen looks beautiful with zero wear. Threads for the cable and stand are perfect. Switch works like brand new.
Also included...
An original vintage 15 foot cable with a Switchcraft 1/4 inch male connector for use with most audio equipment and all guitar amplifiers. The cable is soft, pliable and it\'s free of any cracks or dry rot.
The original 911 box is included as well and shows typical wear but still in very good shape. Best part is that the data sheet is still available and it shows all the specs you could possibly want to know about the 911. This mic will screw on to all American (and most Japanese) desk and floor stands.This mic I would rate this an easy 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10. A fun piece todisplay anywhere in your home, office or studio.
