Personal Israel army soldier Dog Tags.
The metal tags are engraved in Hebrew: the two disks have the name ofthe soldier:

(Landerman Jacob)
His ID number:
163578
And his blood type: 0
In the first years of the Israeli army, during the1948 War of Independence and in the early 1950\'s, the IDF did not have a standard official dog tagfor their soldiers. Some service personnel were issued round metal identitydisks, which were hand stamped with some ID info: name or service number orboth. Some were with the blood type. The size of the disk was also not standard; some were 3 cm, 3.5 cm and 3.8 cm in diameter.
The identity disks were worn around the neck on a38\" length of cotton cord. One tag was suspended below the main tag.
The itemis in good condition, showing some age that isto be expected inavintage piece - but nothing that detractsfrom its beauty.
