SoundScriber Corporation 56R is a vintage historic recording instrument. Made in the 1950\'s. This is a 6\" disc version. The original power cord and microphone (with cord) are included. Unit will power on and indicator light on Mic lights up. Can not guarantee it is fully functional, but appears complete. Right side of case has some discoloration, as indicated by photo. Please look at all photos to see items overall good condition. Contact if you have any questions. The SoundScriber introduced their first dictation machine in 1945. They were made in the U.S.A.. They were popular and widely used for 20 year. They used a 4\" or 6\" soft plastic discs and pressed a grove into the disc; opposed to cutting a grove, like when making a record. The machines were used by corporations, industry, militaries and governments around the world.
