Description

Up for sale is a Vintage One-Pint “Archer Pol-Mer-Ik Linseed Oil” Can! The advertising tin has great vintage advertising graphics featuring an archer with bow and arrows. The can reads “It’s Super-Treated! … For Better Painting and 101 Handy Home Uses”. This is a metal can with its original blue metal cap. The can is about 6” tall x 3¾” wide x 1⅝” deep. This brand was made by the Archer Daniels Midland Company in Minneapolis 2, Minnesota. The container is from the 1950s! (It is marked copyright 1950 on back.) As shown in the photo, this vintage tin is in very good condition for its age with nice bright colors and details. It does have some surface wear, including a few drip stains, marks, scratches, and light dents or dings, as well as some soiling and oxidation on the top and bottom. There is some color loss on the blue cap, yet it still reads “101 Handy Home Uses” clearly. The container is empty but may still have some residual linseed oil inside. This vintage Archer Pol-Mer-Ik Linseed Oil advertising tin would make a great addition to your collection!
