This is a great example of a 1950\'s Haeger Potteries\' Black Panther TV Lamp. I\'m lucky to have found it.People used to put lamps like these on their console TVs as a decoration, and to dim the room just right for TV viewing.
The base is wood. The newer ones have ceramic bases, which are lighter than the wood base (more easily tipped over).Plus, I think the wood base just looks cooler, not being all shiny like the newer ceramic bases.
This piece is really cool. You\'ll love it. It will finish off your retro TV room or den.
- The ceramic black panther itself is mint.
- The shade is in great condition, with the silk lining totally intact. Many of these lamp shades did not survive. This one is very nice.
- The wood base is in nice condition, with only a couple little nicks. See the photos.
- Original brass hardware, as far as I can tell. Looks very old, nice patina, works perfectly.
- No telling if the cord is new or used, but it\'s not crumbling or anything. This thing is great and works just fine.
- It has two chains, one for each light.
I\'ll pack this very, very professionally (I\'ve been complimented on my packing ability). It will (it BETTER!) arrive safe and intact.
