Vintage 1950s US Navy WW2 COLVINEX SUIT MODIFIED GOATSKIN LEATHER FLIGHT JACKET:

US Navy patrol pilots and aircrews on long flights in frigid temperatures during WW2 were issued the Colvinex electrically heated leather flight suit. After the war, many of these Colvinex suits were modified to short flight jackets for motorcycle and aviation enthusiasts. This Vintage 1950s US Navy WW2 COLVINEX SUIT MODIFIED GOATSKIN LEATHER FLIGHT JACKET is in very good condition, witha period replacement alpaca pile collar, a small spot of hardened stitching at the lower left front collar, some light scuffing and spot soiling at the left elbow, a bit of scuffing and spot soiling at the right elbow, some scattered tearing to the leather covering of the front waist buckle, some brownish soiling to the lining, a very small tear in the lower left front lining, a bit of spot scuffing at the middle back, and with some scattered age wear evident (most pictured). Otherwise, the jacket is in fine shape, with no other damage to the tough pebbled brown goatskin leather construction. Most interestingly, itboasts a period replacement alpaca pile collar, sports a fully functional \"TALON\" brass front zipper with a matching goatskin leather pull, and bears the classic \"COLVINEX\" maker\'s label and \"SUIT / Electrically Heated / Bureau of Aeronautics U.S. NAVY\" nomenclature tag at the inside neck.
