This is a rare find. A 1953 Regal tenor. It\'s actually a Harmony Sovereign TG1201 labeled as a Regal. This happened as the companies merged some of their products after the Harmony purchase in 1954. As with many of these instruments the neck set was terrible and the plastic nut and saddle had deteriorated past the point of repair. After the neck set we added a new bone nut and saddle, repaired a top crack (just below the bridge on the treble side), and re-glued a couple of loose braces. The guitar plays well and absolutely sings. The projection and tonal balance are exceptional. The tuners are original and function as they should, the neck has the proper relief, and the frets show absolutely no wear. There is no adjustable truss rod. The instrument came in what could be the original chipboard case which is also in decent condition.
