Vintage 1955 Gibson Southern Jumbo \"SJ\" (aka Country Western), Slope Shoulder Acoustic w/HSC, Natural, Sitka Spruce Top, Honduran Mahogany Back/Sides, Very Good Condition!!!
Today, we\'re very pleased to offer this Vintage 1955 Gibson Southern Jumbo \"SJ\" (aka Country Western) Slope Shoulder Acoustic Guitar w/Vintage Hardshell Case! A transitional piece, this instrument is one of the last natural finish SJ\'s under that moniker before it was rebranded the \"Country Western\" in late \'55. This very rare bird has been gently owned and is in very good condition with normal wear one would expect with a vintage instrument. Some slight bow on its top can be seen below the bridge (a very common characteristic for a guitar of this vintage), but it\'s in overall excellent playing condition and is structurally sound! Very aesthetically pleasing with its cool, vintage vibe...tons of mojo! Plays great and sounds wonderful with its perfectly balanced tone and room-filling volume...the sound Gibson slope shoulder guitars are famous for! We ask that you observe its pictures closely and invite you to contact us with any questions you may have.
BODYThe body is in overall very good condition. In addition to the aforementioned bow on its top, noticeable, but normal scratches, pressure dimples, dings and finish checking can be seen throughout. Our master luthiers suspect the bridge may have been reset at some point. If so, it was professionally done, as it\'s very clean! Normal shrinkage of the pickguard can also be detected.
NECKNeck is straight as an arrow and frets show little to no wear! Normal scratches can be seen on headstock and a few tiny nicks can be seen on back of neck. Split parallelogram inlays show normal shrinkage. String height is 2/32 & 1/32 (1st fret) and 8/32 & 7/32 (12th fret).
HARDWAREOriginal nickel tuners show noticeable, but normal oxidation and are 100% functional. Though we cannot confirm it, the strap button, end pin, saddle and bridge pins are believed to be original.

CASENon-original vintage hardshell case shows normal cosmetic wear and is fully functional with working latches and hinges.
