Vintage 1960\'s Tin SpaceShip -PLANET EXPLORER -Battery Operated Modern Toys Japan

I bought this nice vintage space toy with great plans to restore it - but I never got to it. The ship is in nice condition - the paint is crisp and it displays great. The MT Modern Toys -Japan logo is on one side. The Explorer was made in the late 50\'s or 60s. The often missing fin across the top is here. Wheels are intact on the bottom.

The astronaunt flying the Planet Explorer is seen through the windshield. However, there\'s some scuffs and scratches on the surface.The radar dish on top is missing.Also, the cover/door to the batterybox is missing on the back. Without the door - the batteries cannot get a full connection - so the explorer cannot work.The box is however very nice and clean. I think a replacement would get it functional. The metal is pretty nice and clean but it has a few nicks and dings. There are no soft spots or rusty areas -just asmall nicks.

If you are a space toy collector --you will enjoythisone as a fixer or for parts. I have hadit in my collection for several years and always thought it was a nice display piece. There\'s ! and a LOW beginning offer. Buyer pays shipping. Thanks and good luck!
