- Here we have a gorgeous Gibson Les Paul Custom from 1979 in intoxicating wine red finish. This is an early example of a Custom with chrome hardware. Body is is solid mahogany with a 3 piece maple top and neck. Pro upgrades include medium jumbo frets making this one a real breeze and joy to play. Pickups have been upgraded to Gibson's 490R/498T combo. The 490R has an alnico II magnet and is rated at 7.90K output producing all the classic characteristics of a vintage PAF. The 498T employs an alnico V magnet and is rated at 8.72K output, perfect for the heavier rock and blues player. She weighs in right at 10 lbs and ships with a Gibson USA hard-case - Don't miss out
