you are buying a vintage world globe, the illumination lamp inside does work as you can see in some of the pictures where I have it turned on. the power cord has a on off switch & is in fine condition, no cracking or fraying. I\'ve looked at other globes of the same model as this 1 on , several have the \" equator line-ring \" noted as being loose in places around the globe, this 1 is FINE, no damage or coming loose. the base does not have any cracks or splits, the lenses on the gauges are clean & not cracked. the only thing I can point out for accuracy is the narrow brass colored ring around the middle gauge lens has 2 very small tarnish spots, any other places you see on them are light reflection, not damage or tarnish.. the directions on the underside for changing the lamp bulb state to remove a \"white\" pin from the top, there\'s no \"white\" pin but a black one that you lift up on & pull out, then the globe comes off.. when following the directions for placing it at the correct degrees before attempting to remove the globe. this gem has been in storage for many yrs, the bulb is the original 1. I looked on & several have sold even with minor damage for as much or more than I\'m asking for this 1 with no damage.. I will pack this as best I can in a super big box with plenty of bubble wrap & plastic shopping bags to help protect it. I hope the bulb doesn\'t get shaken too much in transit. if it doesn\'t work when you get it, the directions on the bottom label tell you what the replacement bulb is required. the shipping may seem a little high because of the enormous box I\'ll use but, you want it safe on arrival.. check the multiple shipping options, I will give the option of either priority mail or parcel select, which is longer time & maybe not handled as well.. please see all pictures, any glare or light areas you see are just reflection from daylight or the overhead light, the globe is in very good condition. please email with any questions before offerding as all sales are final.. will ship to the US 48 states only.
