I had to chose new as this (18) volume Time/Life Book \"Home Repair And Improvement\" Hard cover series , was bought by my dad back in 1981 . A jack of all trades he was , so he really didn\'t even look at all of them , then sat them on a shelf in the basement until now ! The aging of the paper is normal they tell me , but all-in-all , this set is a beauty , like new ! Each book has cardboard spacer between then for added protection , and each box of (9) have been plastic shrink wrapped , to insure no moisture will get to them !There is a world of information within this (18) volume set that is more than perfect for the 1st time used home buyer , you really can save a bundle doing things yourself without having to call the costly repairman out !!!
