Acquired from the estate of the owners of a closed electricalsupply, hardware and mercantile store.Like the other items from this estate, it\'s in very good condition. This clock has only minor tarnish and wear which is typical for items this age. Please see pictures for examples. None of the areas mentioned are visible to me at a typical viewing distance. The gold sunburst-rays, although not perfect, are in particularly nice condition.
The clock was disassembled and cleaned, including the original Elgin movement (which was lightly oiled, as well) and the wood arms (which were re-oiled with Watco Danish Oil) in the original color. The clock keeps good time.
The lead-acid battery had a minor leak at one time, causing light rusting of the interior of the fixture. In addition to being cleaned thoroughly, the nut and washer holding one wooden arm was replaced.
Please note that the wood arms will be removed for shipment and will require assembly upon receipt.
It is completely functional and would likely last for many years more in daily use. From a non-smoking home.
