Vintage 56 cm Tommasini Super Prestige Bike - Shimano Dura-Ace - Columbus SLX:

This is my classic steel, Italian-made Tommasini Super Prestige road bike and it is in VERY GOOD condition for its age. Purchased around 1992, it has always been been a reliable, fast and fun bike to ride. It shifts perfectly, accelerates quickly and stops just fine.

The 56 centimeter frame (center-to-top) is hand crafted with beautifully lugged Columbus SLX tubing, chromed chainstays, seatstays and a chromed Columbus fork. The red with white spider web splatter paint finish is very nice, and is impressive to see up close. Overall, the chrome is in very good to excellent condition.

The frame is kitted out with a full Shimano Dura-Ace 7400 groupset - including the front and rear derailleurs, downtube shift levers, brake levers, seatpost, crankset and bottom bracket. It has 53 & 42 tooth chainrings and an 8 speed, 13-23 tooth cogset. This groupset has indexed rear shifting, non-indexed front shifting. The shifting is quiet and precise.

The wheels are Shimano Dura-Ace hubs laced to 700 cm, grey-anodized Campagnolo Omega rims. The handlebars are Cinelli with a generic stem. I have a shorter, longer reach stem that I will also include.

As with any 25+ year old bike that has actually been ridden, there are minor scuffs and nicks here and there. There is one noticeable chip on the downtube near the right/rear shift lever and some small chips on the underside of the seatstays and bottom bracket shell (see last few pictures). The anodizing on the rims is worn off on the brake surfaces, as is typical after just a few seasons.

The hubs, headset and bottom bracket could probably use a re-packing but there are no clicks, creaks or other strange noises when riding or stopping.

I am also including Look pedals shown in the pictures. They do show their age but still work fine. You can still get cleats for these pedals, and I will include a one year old, admirably scuffed up pair to get you going. The Sprintech bar-end mirror is included as well.

PLEASE NOTE! -While test-packing the bike, I broke the bike computer that is shown in the pictures, so it is NOT included. No great loss as it\'s a basic $20 model.

The wheels are true and the tires are one season old. This bike is ready to ride, and rides very well!

I have gotten shipping quotes between $90 and $130 depending on where you are in the lower 48. PLEASE UNDERSTAND that the shipping cost will be determined based on your location but will I add no more than the actual cost andnomore than $120.
I have securely packed the bike for shipping using the packing materials and box from a new, $2,500 carbon fiber bike, so the packing method and materials are good. I will insure the bike for the amount of the winning offer, at my expense.

To re-assemble the bike, you\'ll only need to install the seatpost, handlebar stem, pedals (remember, the left-hand pedal is reverse/left-hand threaded) and front brake calipers... the 3 washers on the caliper bolt go on the front side of the fork, when reinstalling the calipers. Install the front wheel quick-release skewer, put on the front wheel, inflate the tires, and you\'ll be ready to go!

You will need 5mm and 6mm allen wrenches and a 15mm pedal wrench (or a thin box-end wrench) for assembly.
