Vintage \'60s Lectrolab R600C Guitar Amp 12\" Jensen EL84/6BQ5 by Sound Projects:
$279.86

Vintage Lectrolab 600C with sweet ’66 Jensen 12” Syntox speaker. Two channels, each channel with their own tone and volume controls and two inputs.
Everything works as it should except the tremolo.
Simple amp. Warm and clean at low volume, with nice lo-fi overdrive when pushed—nice raw bluesy tone. Great amp for garage-tones & with the volume at the sweet spots, it’s pretty sensitive to picking dynamics. Puts out about 12 watts, so it can be pushed w/o bugging the neighbors.
But I also played a lot of acoustic through it at lower volume gigs because of the nice tube warmth at lower volumes.
Photos show the condition of this much loved 50+ year old workhorse: far from clean, but very cool looking. The power cord, back, a couple of control knobs, tubes, & some of the mounting screws are not original. I think the Jensen may not be original. Still has original pressboard baffle—these were budget amps—which I never changed, because it’s part of the amp’s vibe.
Sounds great & it’s never given me a bit of trouble in the many years I’ve used it to record & gig. But as with any vintage amp, the new owner may want to have it updated, including having a grounded power cord added. These have stone simple circuits, so they’re easy to work on. The power tube sockets could use some tightening. But again, it’s working fine as is.
Tube lineup: Two EL84 (great old stock Sylvania!), two 12AX7 (new JJ), 6au6, 6C4, all strong & working well.
These get rave reviews due their old school tone, check out the web. Lectolab’s are fairly rare & theR600C is particularly rare . I’ve had several Lectrolab model’s, but I think the R600C is their best. Hate to let this amp go, but I’m getting on the years, so it’s time for someone else to use it.
Shipping rates should be well under what it actually cost for me to ship the amp, but I’ll just eat the difference.
I’ll try to answer questions as soon as I can. Thanks for looking, happy offerding & curious tone.
