Vintage \'71 Seiko Bell-Matic Alarm Watch, 4006, Rare Stelux \"chiclet\" Band:
$117.50

Up for sale is a nice working example of a Seiko Bell-Matic watch, model number 4006-6010, in working order and nice cosmetic shape. The serial number dates it to March of 1971. I bought this from the estate of the original owner, and I was told the owner had it since it was new.
Mechanically, it appears to be working as it should. The watch sets, and the day and date work as they should, including via the quickset to change the date (you depress the button at 2). The alarm sounds loudly, and goes off about 5 minutes before it\'s set too, which isn\'t bad for these models. I haven\'t tested it\'s timekeeping or power reserve long term, but it lost 4 seconds over the four hours I observed it.Cosmetically, this is in pretty nice shape. The dial, hands, and rotating ring look nearly perfect, and the lume on the hands and hour markers looks brand new. The hour markers are really unusual, but chunky things that feel very retro. The case and band are in need of a cleaning, but the case shows its original brushed finish well, and doesn\'t have much wear. There\'s some brassing on the band, but it looks worse in the photos than in person and is still quite presentable.
It comes on its original bracelet, which is a \"chiclet\" style bracelet that is very hard to find, I dare say the dreaded \"rare.\" I\'ve only seen them on this model belle, on the 6139-600X \"pogue\" chronographs (for which it is very, very rare), and on a few late 60s sports divers. It is made by Stelux, which is a bonus - Stelux-made bracelets for Seiko are generally thought to be of a little higher quality than the normal ones made by Seiko. It\'s not very long, though - I count only two removable links left. Also, strangely, the clasp is the correct style (with the \"Seiko\" in a box, as with most Stelux bands), but it isn\'t gold-plated like the rest of the band, so I would guess that was replaced with the clasp from another bracelet.
Happy an amateur collector of vintage Japanese watches, mostly Seiko and Citizen. As such, I won\'t accept returns unless the watch arrives in different condition than as described. Please examine all photos as they are part of my description. This will only ship internationally via \'s \"global shipping program,\"which is the (expensive) quote you should automatically see in the listing if you aren\'t in the U.S. In my first real attempt at using this, I received messages from folks in Spain, England, and France all telling me that it wouldn\'t let them offer, so I apologize if it does so for you - there\'s nothing I can do to correct it :(. If you have a response score of less than 10, please contact me prior to offerding or I may cancel your offer. I am happy to combine shipping costs as long as whatever I\'m selling will fit safely in a flat rate small USPS box, but the Global Shipping Program won\'t let me do this unless you agree to cancel your sale wins and re-do the sale as a single Buy-it-Now option, so be warned of that eventuality if you are an international buyer. I generally don\'t consider a buy-it-now option unless it blows my mind, but feel free to try to do so :). Thanks and happy offerding!
