Vintage 9ct Gold St Paul's Cathedral With Optical Stanhope Pendant Or Charm 1965:
Vintage 9ct Gold Miniature St Paul's Cathedral Pendant or Charm with Optical Stanhope dated 1965
This Vintage Pendant or Charmmeasuresapproximately 1 1/4 inches or 32 mm across its length from end to end by just under 7/8 of an inch or 21 mm across its width from side to side and it stands 1 1/4 inches or 32 mm tall to the hanging ring on the top of its body.
The pendant or charm is made from .375 standard 9ct or 9 carat gold in the form of London's Saint Paul's Cathedral that has been raised relief and engrave decorated to give it definition, the underside of its body has a three section piano hinged base that has a clip or catch on one end, the base has been engrave decorated on the inside with a checked diamond like pattern to look like a tiled floor and it has a religious cross within a raised outer border on the outside, the pendant or charm also has a small glass optical stanhope or viewer that when held close up to the eye the tiny micro images of London's The Strand, The Law Courts, London Bridge, St Paul's Cathedral, the Tower & London Bridge can be seen, the roof of the cathedral has a 9ct goldring on the top so that it can be hung as a charm on a bracelet or as a pendant on a necklace and the pendant or charm has Not been engraved with a previous owners initials or family monogram all as photographed below, the pendant or charm weighs 17.8 grams and the underside of the base has been impressed with a full set of London assay office .375 standard 9ct or 9 carat gold hallmarks that include the London goldsmith or makers mark F M of F Mansure Ltd, it also has the Leopard Head mark of the London assay office and it has the stylized date letter k for 1965 again as photographed below.
Thecondition is used and near Mint for its age.
The Pendant or Charm has No Dents, No Holes, No Splits, No Cracks and No Repairs that I can find, the cathedral stands straight, the decoration and definition is very crisp, the hinged base opens and closes tightly with ease, the optical stanhope can still be used as the micro images of London are still visible, the 9ct gold hallmarks are still legible although as this is a used vintage pendant or charm it does have some extremely minor surface marks and wear from use along with the patina of age that is to be expected and a gentle clean would not go amiss. Personally I think that this vintage pendant or charm can still be worn today and that it would make a superb addition to any cabinet collection, I also think that it looks absolutely fantastic considering that it's almost 50 years old.
This Superb Quality Vintage 9ct Gold Miniature St Paul's Cathedral Pendant or Charm with London Views Optical Stanhope dated 1965 isone of several pieces of antique silver and gold jewellery that I have also listed.
