I am a book and paper dealer, NOT a vintage tool dealer but I came across a plane collection that I couldn\'t pass up. PLEASE ask questions if you have them. I will not be responsible for details of item descriptions that could have been easily answered with a simple question. This is a vintage A.B. Lowry moulding plane. It looks like it is #72 but there are numerous different numbers stamped on the ends (see photos). There are no markings on what appears to be the original blade. I would call this VG condition. There are some rough spots on the edges, looks like it has what may be an oil stain at top right. I use a poor/fair/good/very good/excellent/mint grading system and grade very conservatively (see my response). This does NOT necessarily correspond to the generic grading system that we are forced to use.
