This is a fabulous unusual silver necklace –I believe from Uzbekistanin Central Asia.Unfortunately, I do not know it exact origin. The person who gave it to me wasa diplomat’s wife and I failed to ask her where exactly it was from but I knowfor a fact it is at least 40 years old and most likely much older than that.

It is silver but not quite sterling quality per my silver testing kit. Butthe flat arrow shaped piece register a lower quantity of silver.Thedarkspots on the necklace is tarnish not corrosion. It weighs approximately 79 grams. The necklace lays flat along the neckand collar bone.

Each piece is hand made—there is a lot of craftsmanship in each piece andthe construction. Each arrow--shapedpiece is hand cut and hammered. The necklace measures 13 ½ inches in lengtharound the neck and is 2 5/8 inches from the top length of the beads to thepoints of some of the arrows.

One of the hammered arrow shapes is missing. When the original thread thenecklace was strung on broke, one of the beads disappeared. I restrung thenecklace on nylon thread and replace the missing bead with a sterling silverbead of the same size.
