Hello and welcome to my sale!

Up for offer today is what I believe to be a vintage Whiting & Davis \"type\" small white metal mesh evening purse in excellent condition without any damage that I can find.

Although the construction, design and material of this purse replicates the Whiting and Davis style, I\'m not able to find a maker\'s name or mark anywhere on it. I\'ll need to leave the i.d. to the experts in the community.

What I CANstate with complete confidence is that this little purse is in outstanding condition without any damage that I can find.

The soft, off-white pearl color of the mesh plates is without any wear; not even in the in the usual places you would find it at the top and sides of the gold tone metal frame. The chain handle is complete and the ball pinch clasp is tight without any wiggle.

Judging from the design and material used in its construction, I believe it was produced during the “Flapper” or Art Deco era of the 1920’s or 30’s but this is another determinationthat I would feel more comfortable leaving to people who are far more knowledgeable than I am about these purses. It has the look and feel of a quality made mesh purse that has age to it.

This little cutie measures approximately 3 7/8\" from the top of the frame to the bottom of the purse (not including the ball clasp) and 3 3/4\" across the widest point at the at bottom.

The gold tone frame is 3 9/16\" across and the sides measure 1 1/2\".

The chain measures approximately 3 3/4\" from the frame to the center of the \"V.\"
