For your consideration is this sensational 3 piece pottery set by Acoma-Hopi potter Ergil F Vallo Sr, aka as Dalawepi which means \"colors of the rainbow\", circa 1980s. Ergil is an award winning Acoma-Hopi artist who is also named in several publications for Native American potters. Ergil primarily specializes in the incised black pottery. He uses natural pollens and minerals to get the contrast in the brilliant colors on his designs which include Hopi kachinas, Mimbres animals, kiva steps and geometric designs.

This fabulous set consists of a large pot, a medium size pot and a smaller seed pot. These pots were hand built, hand etched and hand painted by the artisan. Each one was hand incised with exquisite Native American images of kachinas, ancient symbols and various animals. Ergil hand grounds various gemstones to obtain the coloring for his pottery. He fires them up, hand polishes them, then fill the crevices with the ground up powder of the gemstones for each color. That is why his pottery creations should never be washed or rubbed for loosing the color in the etchings.

The pots measure as follows:

Center Photo - Medium pot at 4\" tall x 5\" diameter (17\" circ)

Right Photo - Small Seed Pot at 3\" tall x 4 1/2\" diameter (13 1/4\" circ)
