There is next to no one of the Jewish faith in this area, so I don\'t know how this got here. I do not know the vintage, or anything much else about it. It\'s for some ceremony, but that\'s about the extent of what I know. There is a place on the cup part that is worn, but other than washing with mild soap and water, I didn\'t want to risk trying to remove the stain, afraid of damaging this beautiful piece. Other than that, it\'s gorgeous. Comes in a fitted blue kind of velvety box. In the photos, the box looks like two colors of blue, but that\'s a trick of the light on the velour, it is one solid color a nice medium to dark blue. Least ways, that\'s how I see it, I am partially color blind. I do not see green, so if it\'s blue-green, I see only the blue. I believe this to be silver or nickel plated brass. It is engraved with the star of David and other designs in the band around the cup part. The base is either a highly polished brass, or is plated in gold or something that gives it a gold tone, I really don\'t know. Doesn\'t act like brass, that\'s all I know. From what I found online, I know some of these things are extremely expensive, others are not, but I could not find this one, so I have no clue. Some go into the thousands. Anyone that can give me definitive info on it please do so. Shipping in the USA is ONLY by medium flat rate box at 14.95, yes that\'s two dollars extra for packing materials and fees.
