Possibly from the 19thcentury with Greek or Ottoman Balkan origins, certainly old. This is possibly the kind of cartridge box called \"Palaska.\" Lovely patina on this collectible piece.

SEE PHOTOGRAPHS for specifics including condition, patina, style, motif, etc. Shieldshaped with relief on front, top, sides, and bottom, showing scrolls and foliage motifs with stylized birds. Working hinged top. Beltloop on back will make it easy to hang on a wall as a display, possibly to hold decorative items, matches, makeup brushes.
