Item Description:

• Excellent condition vintage rare mid-century handpainted bowl.
• By Kurt Ekholm Arabia Finland, red pottery 10-inch across bowl, with brushed colorful yellow and blue flowers against a cool white background.
• This is a large hard-to-find bowl and signed on the underside with impressed \"Arabia Made in Finland ARA\" and a lightly impressed cluster of letters above.
• The gently fluted undulating sides are asymmetrically glazed with the flowers and occasional leaf on the inside, with more leaves on the outside. A very soft, gentle look.
• The background glaze is typical, with an irregular brushed look.
• The large bowl measures more precisely 9 7/8 inches across the top edge, tapering down to 4 inches across the foot, and stands 4 inches deep.
• There is a glaze rub on the outer lip (unknown if this is manufacturer or post-wear), and a faint hairline on the inside only - does not extend to the outside or through the clay - about 1 inch long, from the lip down into the bowl.
• When tapped, the bowl still rings true, and this hairline was not noticed until many days after purchase.
• They do not detract from the beauty of this bowl in the slightest.
