EXTRAORDINARY 1930\'S ART DECO MID CENTURY CUSTARD GLASS 5 LIGHT FIXTURE CHANDELIER!This listing is for an absolutely fabulous 1930\'s custard glass shade, 5 light ceiling fixture! The 1930\'s were an incredible time of design when the flowing geometric shapes of Art Deco started to merge into the Atomic Mid Century and this light just captures that time perfectly! This is the seldom seen 5 light fixture with the 3 light being far more easily found. The light is a mixture of cast iron and chrome with 5 original, custard glass shades that sit on each chrome bucket. The bottom cast iron is still the original deep burgundy color which is such a rich, deep color it looks black in the right light. It is still in very good condition with only some minor, age related chipping. Please use the zoom feature to see where the chipping is; it is pictured. The chrome is also still excellent with very little evidence of age and still has a mirror-like shine. The ceiling canopy measures 5\" across and this one does have an adjustable drop which is just another feature of this particular light that is hard to come by! The 5 original custard glass shades are still very good! They simply sit down inside each chrome cup ~ the bottom lip of each is unfinished so care should be taken not to slide your finger along them! A couple have some tiny chips along these edges, but they are not seen since that edge is down inside and they do not affect the positioning in any way. Two shades also have hairline cracks that were truly expertly repaired as they are really difficult to even see. The wiring is still all original and the buyer can re-wire if desired, but this light was working without any issues and was only disconnected and taken down about a week ago. If you have been searching for this very coveted and quintessentially streamline modern light do not miss out! This light, when found, often is priced at $1,000 or more.
