This is a stunning 15 carat gold Art Deco period circa 1923, Scottish Cairngorm citrine brooch.The brooch has the following engraved on the back - Meddie . April 11th 1923.
I have collected agates in Scotland for over 20 years and know where most of the lovely gemstones that Victorians used for their classic jewellery were found.
The stone is a superb facetted champagne citrine from the Cairngorm mountain range which has been fully tested by a local jeweller and is a genuine citrine.
The brooch has a 15 ct stamp for 15 carat gold and has been fully tested to confirm this. The width is 5.8 cm ( two and a third inches ) and the pin and clasp are in good working condition and original. The citrine dimensions are 1.5 x 1.1 cm and the total brooch weight is 4.1 grams.
