In my Travels around the Los Angeles area to find Interesting, Unusual, Antique or Beautiful Selections of Luggage, Purses and Leathergoods items to add to my Shop, I come across some really special pieces and Nearly Lost Treasures.

Many of the Estate Sales I attend are in the most Magnificent Homes which belonged to extremely wealthy, successful people. It is absolutely amazing to me how many beautiful things they had that were never used. Possibly they were impulse purchases or more likely, gifts that were never or rarely used.

This Beautiful Pair of Boyce Lazarus Women\'s Camel Buttery-Soft Kid Leather Gloves, together with what might be their original storage box, is another Great Estate Find in Lovely Condition. The box has some edge wear and the label which would have contained all of the identifying information is mostly torn and worn away. The box evidently did its job well as the gloves are in mint condition, other than the few dropped stitches on the lining, mentioned further - below.

They fit a little above the wrist and feature pretty scroll-embroidery and either fur or faux fur trim. I really can\'t be sure which. The closure snaps are covered with charming button tops.

They measure about 11\" Long - measured from tip of 3rd finger - to edge of fur or faux fur trim.

Lying Flat - measuring across approximate center of Palm - they measure about 3 3/8\".

The Lining is a really attractive Turquoise Knit and the only condition issue to mention is that there are a few dropped stitches in the knit lining near the edge trim. They\'re very clean and almost don\'t show any evidence of wear. If they were worn, it was probably not more than a very few times.

Although I was not able to find any country of manufacture on these gloves, Boyce Lazarus, the maker was a well-known American glove-manufacturing company located in Johnstown, New York and can be found in a Glovers and Tanners Directory dating at least back to the 1930\'s.

You can see just how many American manufacturers of gloves were located in just that one town - probably the capital of American-Made gloves. On one of the links on their informational website, you can see a photo of a pair of their vintage gloves - not these - but it is interesting to see in any case. They do NOT sell any gloves there. This is more of an educational or historical website. The Boyce-Lazarus gloves are about half-way down the page. There are so many interesting pictures of those wonderful old factories. Unfortunately, I now see that regulations do not permit any links, so you can do a search yourself by looking for Boyce Lazarus and sites forgloversandtanners will show up.
