My husband and I have owned over 1000 antique and vintage Singer sewing machines, andalong the way we have accumulated a large stock of old Singer parts. The partsaren’t doing anyone any good sitting in our workshop, so we have decided tosend them on to where they’re needed.

I can’t count the number ofold sewing machines that have come to us without a bobbin case, and finding theproper one can be a trial. If you own a Singer 15 and that sounds familiar, let’sclear the air and talk for a moment about what fits what.

Singer introduced what laterbecame the Model 15 as the Improved Family in 1879. After lots of evolution andchanges it became the Model 15 in 1895. The Model 15 also had a lot of changesduring a production run that lasted from 1895 until the late 1950s, but most ofthe Singer 15s you will come across were manufactured between 1930 and 1956,and Singer numbered them this way:

15-88 had a large, spoked hand wheel and wasdesigned to be used as a treadle (foot-powered) machine, although some weresold with an electric motor

15-89 is exactly the same as a 15-88, but came witha hand-crank and was sold as a portable

15-91 had a small, one-piece hand wheel and adirect-drive (“potted”) sewing motor

This bobbin case came from a1934 15-88. It will fit any 15-88, 15-89 or 15-91 machine manufactured from1930 to 1956. It is in good, original condition, has been cleaned, and is readyto install in your machine. We hope it helps you to make lots of beautifulthings.
