Here is a great clock/barometer set from Chelsea for your buying consideration. Recently acquired it at an estate sale. Would make a great gift or keep it for yourself.

Great piece for your decor needs from Chelsea of Boston, MA. Chelsea is considered one of the premier makers of marine/nautical clocks. They got their start in the late 1880s. The company was called Harvard, Boston and then Eastman, before they finally settled on Chelsea and stayed with it.

The clock is in running and striking condition and comes with a Chelsea winding key. The clock has the serial number \"804072\" on it where the plate comes off the back of the clock. That would say the clock was made in the 1976 to 1977 period.

Beautiful gold colored lacquer finish on the base of this set, the cases and the ship wheel spindles. I think the base is made of brass from what I have read online. Not sure if that applies to the two cases as well. Some minor finish loss in a few places, most notably the spot between the barometer and clock set. Beautiful ship\'s wheel design for the cases of both pieces. The spindles are all there and none of them are bent or broken.

Both doors of the clock and barometer are still securely attached to the cases by their hinges. The lock latch on the clock door does need some adjustment. The glass in both pieces is a little loose and chatters which a drop of glue in a couple of places will correct.

The clock is in running and striking condition. The clock has a switch to turn off the strike which is not a common option that is found out there. It appears the barometer is working as well, I cannot say if it is accurate or not as never test them.

The clock/barometer set stands 9\" tall, by 14\" across, by 3-5/8\" wide. The face of each piece is 3-5/8\" across. It is 4-7/8\" across to the rim of each bezel and 7.5\" across each piece to the end of the wheel spindles. The face of the clock and barometer are silver colored. Some minor finish loss to the clock face around the wind arbors. As can be expectedwhen dealing with an antique clock, some adjustments may be needed aftershipping to get the clock re-running correctly again as they can be verydelicate. If you have not had experience with old mechanical clocksbefore, I would suggest you steer clear. One really needs to have thepatience, and skill to work with these great works of art. They are notour modern plug in and go, or change the battery clocks. Please ask anyquestions relating to this matter, before you decide to purchase it.

Returns Policy

Returns are accepted by seller within 14 days of receipt of item by buyer. The Buyer will be assessed a $150 restocking fee should they decide to return this item for whatever the reason..
Please note that a restocking fee is charged toto cover costs related to the loss of listing time and other potential sales, plus the amount of care and time that goes into preparing our unique and fragile items for shipping.
In compliance with \'s buyer protection program, the purchase price plus original shipping costwill berefunded to the buyer once the item has beenreceived by the seller, minus the $150 restocking fee noted.
Buyer would pay for thereturn shipping cost and any applicable insurance cost (item is buyer\'s financial responsibility until safely returned to the seller).
