This lovely vintage Bakelite brooch was made from solid chocolate brown colored Bakelite. The brooch has been created by mounting the two scalloped shaped pieces of Bakelite on either side of a brass dome. My interpretation is that the design was inspired by a flower and dates to the Art Deco Era.
The brooch is 2 1/2\" long and 1 3/8\" wide.
The brooch\'s pin and clasp are original to the piece and has a \"c\" clasp that is in great working order and stays closed when worn.
The brooch weighs 26 grams. No chips or cracks were noted and the brooch tested positive for Bakelite with Simichrome polish.(See photo #6).There are a couple of tiny tarnished areas of the brass dome, but nothing a little Brasso can\'t take care of:)
