Wonderful sculptured jewelry/trinket box, mid-century circa 1950s-70s, by Pal Kepenyes. Hand formed in brass and bronze withremovable lid. Stamped \"Pal Kepenyes\" on the bottom. Condition is excellent with patina consistent with age. It does have some tape residue on the bottom that can easilybe removed.An internationally renown sculptor, Kepenyes was born in Hungary and began exhibiting in Budapest in 1946. He immigrated to Acapulco, Mexico in the 1960s after imprisonment for his activism in the 1956 Hungarian revolution. His work - which includes both miniature and monumental sculptures, as well as jewelry - can be found in museum and private collections worldwide. Dimensions:4 1/2\" longx 2 1/2\"wide x3\" high.
