Vintage C.G.CONN 61B “Super Connstellation” Trumpet:

For your consideration is a Conn 61B “Super Connstellation” professional model trumpet. It was built in 1972, according to the serial number (R251XX). These trumpets have a .458 bore (ML) with a 4 5/8” Bell. The \"61B\" is identical to the \"60B\" except for the addition of the 1st Valve Thumb Loop, which is adjustable. This specific horn is a great playing trumpet that can be used in any venue. As you can see from the pictures, the lacquer finish has normal wear and small dings from use. The bell rim is straight with no dents. The valves are in extremely good condition with very little wear (see the pictures). They are smooth, fast and the horn has great compression.

The main tuning slide has some denting due to being stuck and improperly removed. This is shown in the 5th photo. The second valve slide shows wear as well (4th photo). None of this affects the playability of the horn in any way.

All valve slides function very smoothly. The trumpet has been chem-cleaned and comes in canvas covered hard shell case. The case is not original but is in excellent condition. The 60B & 61B were play tested for Conn by Buddy Childers and Gene Goe. Conn’s goal was to develop an instrument that could compete with Bach and Benge.
