This photo is from 1-14-1959 when Casey appeared as keynote speaker at a Testimonial Dinner at the Westwood Shrine Club. This was given to attendees of the dinner.

Casey was inducted in the Cooperstown Hall of Fame in 1996 following a colorful and outstanding career. Casey was most famous as a manager to several New York Yankees Championship teams and as the original manager of the hapless, expansion New York Mets. \'The Old Perfessor\' as he was called was born in 1890 and died in 1975. As a player from 1912 to 1925, Casey played outfield, hit .284 lifetime and played with 5 teams. He managed the Brooklyn Dodgers, Boston Braves, the Yankees for 11 years and 3 in Flushing with the Mets. He was a 9- time World Champion, won five consecutive Series as Yankee skipper, had his number #37 retired by both New York clubs and was wildly popular with the fans as well as the press.

This good condition 5 x 7 white-bordered Black & White photograph is FACSIMILE SIGNED and reads\"Thanks for your good wishes * Sincerely Casey Stengel\". As pictured, the triangular edges of this photo were previously taped and show evidence of residue, this is being Sold AS-IS, and is photographed for your review.
