Vintage Carstens Tonnieshof Lava Gold Toothpick & Relish Tray West Germany. Condition is Used.
Yes this is a set! Rare and unique find. Toothpick holder (I think) is # 324-2 and the relish tray (I think) is # 324-1. These are totally mid-century modern and both are in wonderful condition. There is one \'spot\' on the bottom of the tray that looks like a nick but I think its just a spot of metallic glaze. See photo.
The gold trim on the toothpick holder is in wonderful vibrant condition. There is less overall gold trim on the tray intentionally. There are no chips, cracks, nicks or crazing on either item.
Both are marked with a double house with a C under it as well as the number and GERMANY, see photos.
The tray measures 7\" across at the widest point and 6 1/2\" long and 7/8\" tall.The toothpick holder measures 2 1/2\" across, 2 3/4\" tall, and 1 1/2\" deep.
I could be totally wrong about what these items are, I couldn\'t find another set like this anywhere on line. This came from a estate sale and there were toothpicks in the small piece, hence my assumption.
