Vintage Cartier Hummingbird Brooch in 18kt Gold
Cartier has been using animal metaphors in their jewelry since at least the 1960s and a lot of the designs symbolized not only the animal, but society as well. This particular Hummingbird appears to be in motion and a darting motion at that. It could symbolize the direct impact that Cartier wanted to make in the jewelry industry for the future.
