Celadon Glaze Kitty Cat Teapot
The color is of course, that beautiful light sage green, known as \"Celadon\".
This is a high gloss glaze, inside and out.
The shape of this teapot is also known as a \"Welcome Porcelain Statue\".Stands 6 1/4\" Tall,
and is approximately 6 3/4\" wide, from the out stretched right paw to the back of the handle, which doubles as the cats\' tail.The Celadon (Light Sage Green) Glaze is BEAUTIFUL, as NEAR PERFECT throughout the piece, as possible!
No flaws, or imperfections of ANY KIND on this piece. NO CRAZING!
Nice detailing in the base mould, details whiskers on the cute cheeks, and above the eyes.
A fish is seen held closely under the left paw...and the folds of a bandana are sculptured around the neck, below the removable head.
The cat\'s head is expertly modeled to be turned a quarter turn to secure it when (if ) using the piece as a functioning teapot.
The size of the opening allows the head to be easily removed for cleaning the teapot after use.
The inside of the teapot has five (5) piercings in the clay to allow the flow of tea out the spout (the right paw),
yet straining any loose tea leaves.
This piece has a Chinese Maker\'s Mark on the bottom...showing it is a higher than usual quality Novelty Sculpture.

Never USED as a teapot, always displayed in a closed glass china cabinet.
