This vintage salt/pepper set were made in Japan. They look very much like Holt Howard-type shakers but I have not been able to identifiy them as his.  If they are, I believe them to be either early or late creations as the eyes are not exactly the same as so many of his shakers.  Also the bodies are white-but-shaded. The cat wearing the red scarf has blue & black highlights while the kitty wearing yellow has a brown/black scheme going on.  The stopper is intact for both.  They are plastic stoppers but I don\'t know if these are replacements or original to the pair.  Regardless of whether they are Mr. Howard\'s or not, they are cute and in great shape.  No repairs, chips or cracks. 

These donated shakers are being sold by Paws and Claws Humane Society, a nonprofit charity in Rochester, Minnesota. 100% of the proceeds will be used to care for and find loving homes for the cats, dogs, kittens and puppies in our care. Thank you for considering this item.
