From My Personal Collectionatisthis excellent vintage Gold Overlay eyedropper fountain pen from CHICAGO GOLD PEN COMPANY, circa 1890. An outstanding example of an early pen! Wonderful Art Nouveau chased designs in the gold filled cap and barrel overlay. The excellent, smooth writing nib is signed: CHICAGO GOLD PEN Co – No. 3. The nib is a 14K solid gold nib with a FINE tip and very Flexible “Noodle” tines, with tines aligned and good tipping material. The pen measures 5 1/8\" (13.2 cm) capped. A very collectible and early model! The pen has no chips, cracks or monograms! Numerous small pings hide well in the elaborate chased designs. Surface area is clean, very glossy (photos may show some lint on pen from the buffing cloth, reflections, glares and/or shadows)! This fountain pen has been flushed and tested for leaks. Feed system has been cleaned and serviced. It will arrive ready for your favorite ink! A nicer example would be hard to find! Certainly gift and/or investment quality.
